The Gaborone Food and Wine Show

5 Nov

For the past few weeks I’ve been hectically busy trying to prepare for the 1st ever annual Gaborone Food and Wine Show that just took place on Saturday, 3rd November 2012.

I don’t even know where to start, but I will just say it was an absolutely AMAZING event!! I had soooooo much fun selling and manning that Bella Pastry stall, and just being at the event. Very well put together and very much needed in this somewhat sleepy town of ours!! A big well done to the organizers! And a big thank you to my partner in friendship, Tumiso, for helping me out at the Bella table. It was SO crazy (in a good way) and we sold out of our goods by 3pm. Hectic!!!!

On our menu for the day were Red Velvet Cupcakes (duh), Red Velvet Cake, Red Velvet Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Cinnamon Rolls, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes, Chocolate Cupcakes, Lemon Meringue Cupcakes, and Strawberry Cupcakes.

Of course all things red velvet were a HUGE hit….people were going crazy over the cake that was going through so much in that blazing Botswana heat. Its always a good feeling to introduce people to the wonder that is the Red Velvet phenomenon and to have them appreciate why a little cupcake costs the amount it costs, etc. Events like this give people like myself an opportunity to not only whet the appetites of many but to allow people to have a better understanding of what exactly gourmet desserts and dessert catering is all about and why it is important and why it should be appreciated.

Hopefully these pics will give you an idea of what Bella Pastry can do for  you in terms of your entertaining needs. Dessert Tables are fast becoming the new “in” thing especially at weddings, bridal showers, birthdays, etc. So definitely be sure to contact us to discuss options. As you can see, Bella Pastry is crazy about detail and its more than just providing edible treats, but also an aesthetically pleasing display to compliment your event.

Lastly, endless thanks to all the people who support Bella Pastry through and through. Family, friends and most importantly customers who give us a fighting chance in this game!!!! I love seeing people happy and seeing people enjoying our treats and I will continue to do my best to ensure that everyone keeps smiling when it comes to the delivery of these sweet treats of ours!!
